Hello guys, ive recently bought a 3600x to replace my old 1600, the problem is that the system stutter very often (for example if im watching a video the voice goes robotic for half a sec). Im using a Gigabyte AB350m gaming 3 as motherboard and 16GB RAM clocked manually to 3000MHz. I cant reproduce the stutter manually, it seems to happen randomly. My Chinebench scores seems to be OK, 480 single thread and 3600 multi thread, also the temps never go above 80 degrees. Ive also reinstalled windows 10 with all the chipset drivers but the stutter is still present, what else can i try?

Yes, the most recent one is the F50a with AGESA 1.0.0.4 B (2019/11/27).

Can you post full systems spaces please?

What voltage is the BIOS pushing into that chip, it's a 95w chip at stock so if the BIOS is pushing more voltage could easily be overwhelming the board.

I had stuttering on the same board using my 1700 OCd so replaced the board and didn't have the stutter anymore.

Is the stuttering worse when pushing the CPU, for instance couple you install prime95 and see if the stuttering becomes more predominate/more frequent?

During idle the voltages r between 1.069 - 1.450. Im gonna try with prime 95 now.
During chinebench these are clocks and voltages:

So you're telling me the board is pushing over 1.45v while idle... afaik that is seriously not right.

@TofuHaroto could do with a second opinion here, I don't have much experience with Ryzen 3k.

Usually that's a little high but nothing too serious because the board will down volt once the cpu is hit with a load

At what voltages was the dram set to ?

Also what soc voltage ?

That is a pretty significant over clock

Try memtest86 to make sure it's not a ram problem

Clock it down to 2666 and then try

gonna try memtest now. Also these are the timings:

Try stepping down the voltage to 1.35 ( after the memtest) and set it so the base speed or something like 2666 .

Ive just completed the first run of memtest (1/4) and it gave me 0 errors, should i keep going with the other 3 runs or is pointless?

Can you set FCLK in BIOS?

Also, can you see FCLK in HWiNFO?  Does it ever fluctuate?

The pc didnt stutter yet, im gonna see what happens in the next hours, but as i said it stuttered even at 2133MHz with stock voltage.

Yes i should be able to set it in BIOS, but it doesnt fluctuate at all in HWiNFO.

Ok.  My thought was that FCLK and MCLK were getting out of sync as FCLK drops for power saving.  I saw terrible lag when it happened on my system and was cured by setting FCLK in BIOS and not letting it get set on Auto.

Oh, and don't worry about your voltages.  They're fine.

Lastly, what do you use for audio?  Is it on-board, GPU, or a USB solution?

This is the first time that ive a ryzen 3000, so i really dont know much about the voltages that they should use, my old 1600 had pretty low voltages compared to this one and it also worked at lower temps, also the 3600x stock cooler sounds like a shuttle so im using the 1600 one while im waiting for the ML360R to arrive. Do u know if theres any software that i can use to monitor the stutters? They really last half of a second so im pretty sure many times i miss them...
