Underscreen camera using mirror?

I was thinking about how teleprompters work, how they reflect the text from a mirror onto a surface so the person reading it can see it but it appears completely invisible to the camera. Why can't we have a simple underscreen camera this way?

The camera would lay under the screen and the actual screen part would reflect off a mirror onto the surface above. The screen part would be invisible to the underscreen camera but you could see the screen. The only problem with this design is that the section of the screen above the camera wouldn't be touchscreen.

It would make a phone too thick, not to mention that there would be more parts that could break and wear. Not to mention significant potential increase in price.
