lower Volume

Hi there, my HD598's are too loud (using them with gsx1000 AMP which doesnt have an analog volume dial) I have to put them on 10 or less which doesnt allow for precise volume adjustments. Currently I just have EqualizerAPO preamp set to -12db. But is there a way to adjust too what volume10/volume20 translate (= how loud they are) in registry? Because I dont like having a programm in between and I prefer doing things natively in windows.
