Definitely build. Prebuilt costs more for lower quality parts. I’ll update this with a recommended build.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Two points:

- My RAM choice is suboptimal -- find a dual-channel kit if you can, since what I listed is a single-channel kit. Prices are high right now, though, so if you got the single stick I recommended, buying another matching stick down the line when it's cheaper is a good idea.

- A 2TB hard drive is always a good idea for extra storage. The 500GB SSD I recommended will hold a few games, and load them nice and fast, but not that many.

i know i am recreating your list with some tweaks for example 16Gb of ram and maybe a worse monitor you did however make a big mistake

the 1600 is 110 and the 3600 is 140 so with a £800 budget it works

Good spotting. I was sorting by lowest price since I didn't know how much you wanted left for peripherals, extra case fans, or whatever else. The R5 1600 isn't a bad CPU by any measure.

I would recommend the R3 3300X if you can find it -- it's not far off the R5 3600 in gaming performance whilst being cheaper. More cores doesn't always mean more better.
