Use HWinfo to monitor your CPU and GPU clocks and temperatures while gaming.

 

Make sure your PC is not in a power saver mode under "Power Options" in the control panel.

 

If all of that looks normal, you can try updating your drivers.

 

If that does not work, try using DDU.

Hello, I am fairly new to pc builds and have had mine for about a year. I play fortnite, and recently my frames have been dropping like crazy. I have it set to 165fps and the game feels like it’s freezing in a way. I play on mostly medium settings. Is there anything that my be making my computer do this?
 

I have a Ryzen 5 2600 cpu

gigabyte b450 ds3h mother board

g.skill trident Z - 16gb

and an Evga rtx 2080


I thought it was due to my cpu overheating so I installed a deepcastle 240ex, but it’s still feels like it stutters and I can never stay above 120 frames

you could also install msi afterburner for system monitoring, it has a function to display performance metrics on your screen so you can see what's happening in real time.
