PSU pinout

OroBoros86

Hey everyone,

so I've got a OCZ ZX1250w PSU (great Wall m1200) that I've taken the 24pin apart. I was wondering if anyone is able to find the pin diagram for it. Just to confirm I have it back correctly.

I have a Vsense wire on the 3.3v but one side is together and the other side is 2 seperate pins. I can't figure out for the life of me where the Vsense pin would go.

A mechanical diagram would be great, but pictures of the actual 24pin connector on both sides would be cool too.

TY,

Oro.

This article has a pinout layout

So I've found many motherboard pinouts, I'm looking for the PSU side specifically.

I should add that its a full modular PSU

It's the same for the PSU as well, the cables are just extensions of the PSU layout.

No. If you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about, try to at least not give "advice" that could potentially fry someone else's components. The pinout on the PSU side is not standard at all, and is not just one to one with the component side pinout.

I've spent a week searching the web looking for a mechanical drawing.

So yes the motherboard side is standardized.

PSU side isn't, which is why I'm asking the question to others.

No.. They're not.  Modular PSU cables are not one to one.

TY,

Oro.

You use a DMM to test the voltages on each pin.

While it's connected to the PSU? And on?

Of course.  That's the only time the pins are going to be live.

Do you know which pin on the PSU is the "power on" and can you locate at least one ground?

Yea I'll be able to do it, just have to go pick up a DMM.

So my other question was 3.3V - Vsense wire. One side is together the other is 2 individual pins. I don't have a clue where it goes for the double pin side

On the mobo side, the sense pins go together.  On the PSU side, there is a +3.3V sense pin.

If you "lost" where that pin wen't, a DMM isn't going to help you.

Hind sight's 20/20, but in the future if you're going to change out cables, sleeves, etc. have a DMM ahead of time and a pen and paper where you can map out the wires before you pull it all apart.

Yea it was actually for a different project years ago, but I had a family so it's been collecting dust.

Which pin is the 3.3Vsens?

For an OCZ 1250W?  I don't know.   That was up to Great Wall to define.

That said, 99% of the time, it is "optional".  The PSU should function without sense wires.

Yea I knew it was optional, but having can change from "ok" to "good".

It was just something I'd like to include since it was already there.

Thanks for all your replies thus far

So I found some pictures online to find the jumper pins to power on the PSU.

From there I used a multimeter to find out voltages. And used pictures of "compatible" cables to find out where the pins belong.

Was a tough road but got it together.
