Hey guys,

A friend approached me and asked if I could make him a general system image for his small buisnesses computers. He basically wants the ability to get the exact same setup on any new computer that he buys.

I looked at some stuff like clonezilla, but I'm not exactly sure how well it will work. And if maybe something like Acronis snap deploy would be better and work better.

So, are their any network admins or IT guys out their that have done this before? Do you have any recommendations/tips/tricks?

Thanks in advanced.

Well once you built your operating system and it's ready to go.

You can use a Windows PE (Windows Pre-environment) with imagex.exe and capture the PC's image. Which you can then deploy to the PCs WindowsPE.

There are some great tutorials on YouTube with easy steps to get this done.

CPU: Intel i7 4790k Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Formula RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 2400MHz: GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 780 Ti's with ACX cooling PSU: Corsair AX1200 Watt Gold SSD: SanDisk Extreme 120GB SSD (Operating System) SSD: Mushkin Chronos 240GB (Games) Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster ZxR HDD: Seagate 3TB External OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Mouse: Logitech G502 Gaming mouse Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K60 MX Red switches Monitor: ASUS VG248QE 144Hz

There's also Fog Project, we're using it for generic image deployments.

So if I were to use Fog, could I make it so it ran on an isolated lan? Basically, can I use a computer that's running linux, then connect it to a switch, and then connect the other computers to the same switch. Or does the thing have to have to be connected to the  full network?

You could try BartPE ( http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ ), it has a nice GUI - easy to use

It needs to run on the same network where you will do the deployments.
