I had a folder with 2 very important documents, and after I wrote them and saved and everything, I wanted to check something before I send them and the folder is missing. And to make matters worse, it was in the documents folder, and now every document I had in there is gone. Please, somebody help me, I have to send them tomorrow. I don’t know if this helps, but when I search for it, the only things that show up are shortcuts to those files and when I click any of them, it prompts me that the file is not there.

Already looked in the recycling bin and nothing is in there, this is a 2 week old install of windows with nothing in the bin except old shortcuts to apps that I haven’t installed.

then run one of those data recovery apps that recover deleted data. If it was accidentally deleted then you could recover it as long as it wasn't overwritten

Okay, recuva already found 282k files so I hope that the documents are one of them after it finishes.

Welp... it’s done scanning (it’s only a 128 M.2 SSD so it was quick) and it didn’t find anything. But I found out that in word I can see the file, but when I click it, it says that the file is missing.
