So today I finished building my first PC. I was trying to download Windows 10 onto it, so I went out and bought a 32GB USB flash drive I know 32GB is a lot, but I got a good deal. When I plug it into my old HP laptop, it shows up in files. However, when I go to download the Windows 10 ISO, and I select put Windows onto an external drive, it does not show up there. So in short, when I try to find the USB flash drive, it shows up in Files. But it does not show up in the ISO download app. Can anyone help? If I have to get a different flash drive that’s fine. Yes thanks! 😃

You need to use the Windows Media Creation tool.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Scroll down the page where it says Download Tool Now and follow the onscreen instructions.  It will download the tool and then all you need to do is execute the file that it downloads.  It will do the rest in creating the tool that you need.

When you execute the Windows Media Creation tool, make sure the flashdrive is in the system.  You also want to make sure the only internal drive connected is the drive you want to put windows on.  The windows tool will format and install windows to the flash drive, then all you need to do is go into the BIOS and boot off the flash drive.

Booting off the flash drive will kick in the process of downloading and installing Windows to your internal hard drive.  It's a very simple process, just follow the onscreen instructions.  Give it another shot and let us know how it goes.  Once Windows is done installing to the internal drive, remove the USB flash drive, reset the BIOS to boot off the internal drive and VIOLA!  All done.

I just tried it on another computer, and it went fine!

Thanks to whoever helped! :)
