Hi guys. I’ve just picked up a Phanteks p400a which comes with 3 rgb fans. I really like the halo ring fans but i don’t really no which ones are any good also whether they will be usable on the new B550 Tomahawk board? Any help you guys can offer or fan suggestion would be great thanks.

You can check what RGB mobo supports from its product page. In general there are two types, ARGB and RGB. Besides them Corsair, NZXT, Thermaltake and most cheap sets have their own connector which only works with their stuff. So case fans are already supported by mobo. I suggest using them at first, getting familiar with RGB overall.

Because its not standard, suggesting that you get ML series, which might be the best RGB fan, means you have to invest into Corsair ecosystem. Thats not cheap or even midrange.

My motherboard will support RGB but I think the case fans are aRGB so god knows what that means? I’m not to keen on having to have the case running fully all the time. Can the motherboard not control fan curves so they’re not running fully all the time?  The board is a B550 Tomahawk. Cheers

Do you have any other suggestions other than Corsair by any chance?

I suggest you read my post again. Like I said in there, mobo will support case fans ARGB. And can also control them, those two are done with different headers. Start with those, learn what RGB is and what different types of RGB are, then upgrade when you know what you are getting into.
