I just installed my h105 on my build , i used my af fans instead of the stock fans that came with them.
noticed that my temps aren't much different then when i used my hyper412slim wich i also used with the af fans.

this is idle, just browsing and stuff, but i just thought it would be much more of a diffrence.

is this normal or should i change someting about it?

I have the rad in a pull setup, so the fans pull air out of my room, through the rad into the case.

At idle, you won't see any real difference in temperature. What something like the H105 does is give a nice amount of headroom for over-clocking. What are your load temperatures like?

Also, I'd change the set up so that your fans are drawing air from inside your case, not your room. It depends really, but just make sure you have slightly positive pressure inside your case.

Why would you use AF fans on a radiator... AF means airflow optimized so it is for cases not radiators. The stock fans if I am not mistaken are SP120s which are optimized for static pressure or radiators.

Agree with this. And Corsair's fans have such a wide operating RPM range, that the AP fans can run damn near silent.

Hmm, that sounds a little on the high side. I'd switch the fans for the stock SP120L fans that came with the Cooler.

was going to do anyway, i didn't know that there was a difference for rads or air cooling.

So i'll be back tomorrow, it's arround 22:40 here so i'm calling it a day.

thnx for the input everybody, i hope fan switch does the trick.

Serious?  60C full load sounds fine to me.

Your OC is impressive @TheDigitalRealm, what are your temps?

During modern games, such as Metro: Last Light etc, it never really get's higher than 60-65C. During stability testing, the hottest cores get to around 85C. The voltage is 1.25V in case you were wondering. When I know I have enough to replace it, I'll probably De-lid my CPU.

That's awesome.  I'm at 4.0 ghz with 1.096 V .. soon I will try to go higher.  as for de-lidding that's something I don't think I can ever muster the courage to do.  Hope you post something about it when you get around to it.

so i couldn't wait for the results...

i only switched the fans back to the stock h105 fans, same fan configuration.

much better tems, high 50's, only 1 core going above 60 a few times (checked with speedfan)

only downside is that those stock fans are LOUD,  really irritating when under full load and they ramp up and down all the time

That's really promising. @ 4.0 GHz my CPU would only go as low as 1.18 V, so you may end up having a very decent over-clocker. On the other hand, I've seen other CPU's like yours that just won't accept high clock speeds AND high voltages, they just crash. Yeah, I think I will. I think my CPU could be clocked higher if a little more thermal head room could be gained.
