Considering I could play Space Engineers without issues with my old i7 875k (9year old cpu), 16gb of RAM and a 7970, unless the game changed drastically in the past year, I'd say it is unlikely to be the hardware's fault.

Which resolution are you playing at? Are your drivers up-to date? Did you attempt to overclock anything at all, the CPU, GPU or RAM ?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Bazzite

Undo all of that and retry with stock settings.

Any time "thing crashes soon as I load it" is almost always video driver's fault.

With AMD boards, people tend to forget to install the chipset driver, which means things may not operate at the correct performance level.

If your budget can increase and you can get something better, go for it.
