Upgrading my PC , help!

Hi guys , I have an important question. Do you think I should build a new computer or upgrade this pc (pictures below) ? My friend told me to upgrade the motherboard , cpu , ram , hard drive (SSD) and a case. My power supply is a Thermaltake 500W and my budget is around 350-400. Mainly for gaming , recording and editing. What are your thoughts? Thank you!

If you think I should upgrade my pc , please list the parts that needs to be upgraded.

What about location? 350-400 sounds really low for a new computer if you are in NA.

Montreal , Canada. Well , I can add more if I need to build a new one. That's the price I offered to upgrade my parts.

An ssd is gonna take a huge chunk of that budget, if you get a decent size one, so you might want to drop it and get it at a later date

That's what I was thinking too. I'll be buying the important parts first. But the problem is I don't know what cpu to buy , motherboard to buy etc.
