Those prices seem crazy to me but stuff has been shifting with Covid.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

You’re way overpaying for the gpu. You could very easily get a 1660 super for less than that. Also, I would recommend getting a cheaper case which would give you room to get a 3600.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

i can massively fw this. if you cannot make room for a 3600, then please get a 3300x instead of the 3100

As for the GPU, the RTX 2060 Super FE is $399.99 in the US , and it's a much better deal than the GTX 1650. Or you could go with a 5700xt, my friend just picked one up at Microcenter for $330.00 USD

Part of the problem is apparently the pricing isn’t even vaguely accurate to where they are which makes it really really hard to get anything out of this.

Don't buy a 250Gb SSD and a 1TB mechanical drive, just buy a single 1TB SSD.  That made sense when SSDs were $100+ for 32GB but flash storage is way too cheap to consider buying spinning rust at this point.   Applications do not belong on HDDs in 2020 and mechanical drives only make sense for audio/video storage.

Yes and no.  It depends.  It’s a much tighter budget choice than it was.  It used to be a no-brainer.  It’s not any more.  Going all SSD used to cost double.  Now it’s more like 20% or less. It becomes a question of tens of dollars instead of hundreds.  It’s only a thing on tight budget builds where the jump to the next level of video card is like $50.  If the build has rgb on it sure ditch the rgb and so all ssd.  That’s not a hard one.  If rgb is already out because one is clawing for a functional system then it can make a lot of sense though.

Otherwise this PC looks really good for 1080p gaming.  I can't really pick anything else out.

But they literally would be spending $5 more.  They should 100% buy a 1TB SSD instead of a 250GBssd/1TB HDD.  Dont confuse them.

Hard drives really only exist for mass storage of Audio and video anymore.

If it’s $5 it’s worth spending.  If it’s $35 it might or might not be depending on the situation. The problem here is the cost numbers are TOALLY UNKNOWN because the OP just randomly plugged stuff in.   Don’t confuse them.
