Gigabyte Brix Iris Pro Benchmarks

Jogostar

Hello Folks.

Digital Foundry just posted this video:

Here are some other benchmarks:

"We came into this test looking at the Brix Pro as a marvel of technology - and one of the more exciting Steam Machines. This little box theoretically packs much more power into its tiny chassis than the monstrous i7 tower workstations we were using for our work here at Digital Foundry just a couple of years ago, and it's backed up by what is generally considered one of the most powerful integrated graphics solutions on the market. The Brix Pro should be the ultimate portable processing powerhouse - and a decent games machine to boot - making it a unique product and an intriguing, if pricey, Steam Machine."

These are some pretty good results for such a small machine.

Looks good Alternation between 30FPS to the high 50s will be noticeable though.

Playable? Definitely.

it's set to medium, so if you can't stand the drops, you could go lower with the settings.

Impressive. I wonder how long it will be until iGPUs will be able to run games with 60+ fps on 1080p. I feel technology is developing faster than games get prettier.

The fact that this is not far off from a "next-gen" console.

Sure it is a bit pricey, but it definitely is a step in the right direction for technology. Besides, you won't purchase this machine for its price/performance, but you buy it for its size (I can't actually look at the box itself right now since YouTube is blocked at school...)

I was just about to ask the same question.

I can't view the image either. The website that the image is uploaded to is blocked as well by my school computers. :I

I'll just wait a few hours and check it on my phone (I get LTE in the Cafeteria :))

The issue with AMD coming into the small form factor gaming scene is that their FX-Series processors have too high of a TDP not to have a decently sized air cooler on it at all times. This would increase the size of the steam machine and would keep the case inside at an unsettling temperature. It's reasons such as this that Intel is worth 40x as much as AMD.

i know but i was talking more about there apu stuff because atm if u want the best igpu u have to go with amd but this, this is a very nice alternative and probably performs better in cpu intensive tasks and uses less power then amd.

Quite honestly I forgot about the FM2+ chipset entirely for a brief moment. (Everybody has their moments) I think that it would be something cool to see built.

Speaking of "cool to see built" does anybody know if Razer will be building a steambox? They're already leaders of industrial design, and if they could create a steambox just think about how cool that has the potential to be.

Holy hell that's expensive there but still the size of that thing and with Maxwell cards starting to roll out, some ultra slim laptops (basically ultrabook size) will be able to run BF3 no problem, regardless to the price it's still quite impressive.
