So I've had this issue with my desktop for at least 6 months or so now, where my mouse cursor refuses to move sometimes and jumps around the screen / stutters. Just dragging it in circles it will eventually freeze for a half second and then jump back. I've asked for help on here before, and people suggested to completely uninstall and reinstall all graphics drivers, which I did, but it didn't help. It is also not the mouse or USB port because it happens with every port and every mouse that is connected. I have searched the internet for days and changed countless settings but nothing works. I can't find a correlation with high CPU or GPU usage either when the stutters happen. Makes playing games like Minecraft impossible.

Basic specs:

i3-4160

GTX 1050ti

500W PSU

250GB SSD

1TB HDD

This has gotten to the point where I no longer want to use the computer and I don't think I could sell it for anything because that fact it is so annoying to use. Any last suggestions before I give up hope on this desktop? Thanks!

I should also mention that I have tried taking my graphics card out and testing the mouse then, and it didn't seem to have the issue anymore. The obvious problem though is that the integrated graphics on the processor are terrible and I have a 1440p ultra-wide monitor, whose resolution is not supported with the integrated graphics.

I have a few ideas.

1. Update the Motherboard’s bios. There may be a problem in the bios that causes unstable USB.

2. Update the USB drivers.

3. If your motherboard has ps/2 and you have a ps/2 mouse, delete and reinstall all usb drivers.

4. Scan for malware.

5. Update all windows stuff. And when you are doing that, all other drivers.

6.Reinstall windows. I know it seems harsh, but sometimes Windows can be bad

7. LAST IDEA. Find a USB to ps/2 adaptor if you have a ps/2 port.

This is all I can think of and I hope this helps.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Thanks! The latest bios update I can find on the ASUS site is the one I have from 2015. https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/M32AD/HelpDesk_Download/

Windows also says my USB drivers are up to date so I don't think I can update them.
