Hello everyone,

I built a fantastic computer in December of last year. My whole parts list is here;

I should note this was my first legitimate ground-up build. Everything else I've done was picking new parts for old machines, etc. The build went really well, no hiccups and it even booted properly from the beginning. When I first built the machine, Bluetooth and WiFi would blip out every now and again, but I use a network cable anyway so I didn't care about that. The memory I purchased is advertised at 3600, but only runs at 3200 because of the board limitations I believe.

Initially, the pc ran great, no issues at all. But over the past few months I've been having more and more issues with games crashing without warning or any real reason. And now Windows will start chugging really hard without cause on the desktop, and the only way to stop it is to restart my pc. First RDR2 would crash instantaneously without cause, and Rockstar support wasn't able to help me. I tried every settings, every resolution, compatibility mode, etc with no luck. And now games including Doom Eternal, Modern Warfare, Vermintide 2, Mafia 3, and every single VR title I own also crash without reason, and sometimes BSOD.

I've tried updating my GPU, my chipset, updating Windows, I updated my BIOS in January, I've tried reseating the memory but I haven't gone further than that. The three BSODs I've gotten are memory_management, system_thread_exception_not_handled (failure: ks.sys), and system_service_exception. I don't know what any of them mean, and the very next opportunity to capture the information of them I will post them here.

Any help anyone can provide me with would be amazing. I'm getting kind of desperate, and if I can't find a solution soon I'm going to have to look at taking my pc into a repair shop.

Do you have an antivirus or a webcam? Failures with ks.sys have been known to be caused by those.

I have Window Defender and Firewall, but nothing else additional that I have installed.

I do have a webcam, but it's rarely plugged in and hardly ever used, Logitech HD Webcam C615

Do you have Skype? Try uninstalling that.

Even though your video camera is not plugged in very often, the software to support the camera is there all the time and doesn't go away just because the camera is not plugged in.  Uninstall any video camera software that you may have.  Just don't delete the software, uninstall it.  Things like Skype and Zoom can cause this to happen.

I uninstalled every webcam-related thing I could find in device manager and restarted my pc. I just crashed out of a few games, were there any other locations there might be more things related to a webcam I can uninstall?

Also, the only program I use to talk to others is Discord; No Skype, Teamspeak, Zoom, etc. I do have OBS though, would that be causing a problem?

That shouldn't be an issue. Have you overclocked your RAM at all, or used XMP profiles?

Geez, you do have a problem.  Since I don't run OBS I can't comment on that but rereading your original post a couple of times and reading all the responses again I would have to lean towards some sort of hardware problem at this point.

You have deleted any/and/or/all video capture/broadcast software that I can think of so at this point it is a hit or miss sort of issue.  Like the above poster ImAlsoRan stated above I would look towards maybe a RAM problem.  At this point I am probably safe to assume that you have run MEMTEST86 on your memory but just in case you haven't tried it yet, go ahead and give it a shot.  If possible, try running your system/games on just one stick of memory and see if the problem returns.

If you try running your system on just one stick of memory and the problem returns then shut down the machine and try running again on the other stick of memory.  Maybe just one of the memory sticks has a problem and thru process of elimination maybe we can figure out which one has the problem.

Good luck with your project and let us know how this little memory experiment goes, whether good or bad.

I haven't overclocked anything to my knowledge, but I am using an XMP profile for my RAM. There was only one that was automatically available, so that is the one I'm using.

I ran Memtest86 overnight last night and will post the photos I took of the completed test below. I don't believe there are any problems, but I don't exactly know what I'm looking for
