hey guys so here is my issue

my pc is really slow and keeps freezing aswell as fortnite isnt working very well which made me look into why and what i found is

if i go into task manager it shows my gpu is running at 1% to 0% while my cpu is so much higher when in the fortnite lobby my cpu % gets to 100 and my gpu stays lower than ever, is this a problem??

my specs are

ryzen 3 3200g

rx 570 8gb

asus a320mk mobo

any help on how to fix this or if this is even a problem going onto task manager then preformance i click on my gpu everything is at 0%

Task manager is not very reliable when checking GPU usage. You should probably try again with MSI Afterburner, you can see usage while in game with its overlay.

High CPU and low GPU could mean a bottleneck. What about RAM, do you have one or two sticks of memory? E.g. if you're running in single channel mode that could also be an issue.

What FPS are you getting? Game lobbies tend to be very easy for the GPU to render, and if there is no frame cap, your frame rate will go through the roof. This situation will cause high CPU usage while to GPU remains relatively unused.. Use a frame rate cap or vsync to fix this.

As @Eigenvektor says, you should use something like MSI Afterburner, GPU-Z, or HWMonitor to monitor temps and usage while gaming. But assuming what you say is true...

What frame rate are you getting? What are your graphics settings? What resolution are you playing at?

I would guess that you are running at a low resolution or your settings are set very low with vsync off, and your CPU is pumping out as many frames as it can while your GPU sits mostly idle. If that is the case, you should turn up the graphics a bit.

i have a dual channel memory kit but there different sticks same brand (patriot) one is clocked at 2400mhz other 3200mhz ik it will bring them both down to 2400mhz and would it be a bottle neck from the gpu side or cpu

im playing on medium settings with unlimted frams, maybe i should allow fortnite to check my system and do its own specs there is a mode where it sets the best settings for my machine and puts it on high but i turn it down should i allow fortnite to put it on high and cap the frames at 144 or lower knowing it probally wont get higher then 70 on highest settings (my monitor is 60hz anyway)

looking at bench mark and doing research its a great combo with less then 9% bottle neck with high settings it gets 70-80 fps and uses about 90% gpu usage where mine is using nothing so i think this is the issue do you know how i can fix this

What frame rate are you actually getting.

Probably. A 60-120FPS cap might work fine.
