Good deal?

Hey all, sorry if this is the wrong place for this. 

 

In one one of my local buy/sell/trade groups I came across a decent PC parts combo. 

 

They’re asking 150$(cad, approx. 112$ US)

for a motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler, RAM and case. 

 

The specs. 

 

Intel core i5 3570k

ASRock Z77 extreme4 Motherboard 

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 evo cooler 

16Gb of DDR3 RAM (unspecified brand)

HAF 922 CoolerMaster case

 

i have a power supply and gpu to migrate into the pc, and the cpu can be stably overclocked, and from what I’ve read so far online the 3570k is hard to come by, and has good support still for maybe AA gaming. 

 

Is this a steal of a deal, or too good to be true?

It seems like a good deal, but there is every time a risk to get scammed...

I have a couple mutual friends with the guy, a friend built his new PC for him..

 

only reason he’s selling is he’s upgraded

 

I’ve asked to see it running to be safe, and he told me he isn’t computer literate enough to have over clocked it. 

 

Will check for dust/ damages etc. When I see it tomorrow; but I’ve got a good feeling!

Decent deal, though do note that the 3570K is not exactly fast by modern standards. You're looking at performance similar to a Zen 2 Athlon or 10th gen Pentium

It's a decent deal but I don't recommend it. My i5 4460 borders on unusable for some games

It does have good overclock support and down the line keeping the mobo & upgrading my PSU

I could get it an i7 3770k

 

i do appreciate your feed back, though.
