Hello,

Me and my gf are currently using cheap sub 10 euro microphones,

The problem is that the mics hear us both when we are really busy ingame and the other partymembers are hearing echos a lot(and we hear ourselfs).

We are sitting next to eachother(2m distance), but we cant get the mics to function how we want.

So we are looking for 2 good microphones that will just focus on the sound coming from in front of them, but we lack the knowledge about how to search for this function.
Our budget is about 60 euros each but flexible.

Thanks in advance.

I would reccomend going with a dynamic mic on a stand with the gain turned down to only pick up what's in front of them. Something like a Samson q2u or ath at2005u. Bother solution would be something like a modmic and manipulate the gain to pick up only the individual.

I second this, the t.bone MB88U is another option if you're in Europe, likely will come out cheaper since it ships from Thomann in Germany.
Other options would be a Behringer UM2 and t.bone MB75 for each of you but that's a far more complicated system than the MB88U and likely wouldn't sound much better.

If you'd like to learn a little more about audio interfaces and mic options the link in my signature may be helpful but honestly this one is pretty cut and dry.

Thanks for the replies.

How would i be able to lower the gain(without the behringer UM2)?
my mic is currently too soft, i have the windows boost turned to 0db, the discord volume to max and voicemeeter potato with a 12db boost just so people on discord can hear me when they set me on 200% volume.

is there a good program to set these parameters so we can try your advice, or is this something that needs to be in the mic/preamplifier?

Sadly some mics just can't be fixed with gain settings alone and changing the tech out fully may be the only option

If you're asking about the Q2U/MB88 and such they have a gain knob on the end, Really gain should be set either on the preamp whether that be inside the USB mic or external.
