Budget Beginners Camera

I have wanted to get into photography for a while but the only camera i have is a finepix s2950 which is not the greatest. I would like to know what decent cameras for a low price you recommend, no requirements really just if it can do long exposure shots as that's something i want to try out, and ok low light performance.

What kind of budget do you have in mind?

my instant thought is an old xxD so like a 60d or 70d

I don’t have a specific budget in mind, maybe around the £350 mark but I’d be happier a bit lower as my plan is to buy a dirt bike and use it to travel to remote areas which might have never been photographed before

okay so then that means your going to want something on the stronger built side. 60D or 70D are still my picks. Get something like a 35MM prime for about 100$

I think mpb.com are active in the UK market. I've heard good stuff about them from German friends.

@GDRRiley Do you think £250 is a decent deal on a 60D, it comes with a EFS 18-55mm Lens.

my sister still uses a 60d as a main camera

they are pretty good

I mean look at brandon ( LTT camera man)

he started with a 60d

my GF main is a 60D. 60D came out at the right time to be a lot of videographers/cinematographers first camera.

my sister uses hers for photos only but if she upgrades it might become mine hehe

I have a Rebel T2i, IDK how it compares to the 60D, but they're usually cheap and quite nice to work with. That's about the best I've done so far with mine:

 

 

I just have a basic 50mm lens and then do some exposure adjusting and stuff in Lightroom since I tend to shoot a bit dark.  

Also good lord compression murdered the flower pic, you'll want to click on it to view at full res.

yes I forgot about this camera its still pretty good

the t2i-t5i and t3-t5 are almost identical to the 60D

primes make most cameras a lot better. I don't pay for any software I got canons editing software

yeah forum doesn't do great with that I always open pics for full res
