Budget (including currency): SEK 7000 (about 760 USD)

Country: Sweden

I want to use my computer for games, video editing and image editing. I want the best resolution and refresh rate possible. The programs / games I will have are: Overwatch, Apex, Minecraft, Starwars battlefront 2, many of the adobe programs and sonyvegas pro 17.

I feel like it's time to upgrade my computer as it performs poorly in games, is a bit too slow and looks like a big box.

I am not very knowledgeable about choosing computer parts so I would have appreciated if I had any help from you. I have talked to my friend and together we have come to the conclusion that I will basically need a brand new computer since my current one is based on DDR3.

I want to use my computer for games, video editing and image editing. I want the best resolution and refresh rate possible. The programs / games I will have are: Overwatch, Apex, Minecraft, Starwars battlefront 2, many of the adobe programs and sonyvegas pro 17.

It is important for me that I should be able to upgrade certain parts in the future, I also want it to look good and I want either RGB from the beginning or the opportunity to upgrade to it. I think I should keep my hard drive and add a smaller ssd, I also think the computer should use the Phanteks Eclipse P400A chassi or something similar and I would like to keep my PSU if there is any good way to hide the ugly cables. If any of you can and would like to, I would appreciate some suggestions on parts:-) I also wonder if you think I should wait for any new products before I buy. Thanks in advance:-)

The specs on my current computer:
AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz
16 GB DDR3
AMD Radeon R7 370 Series
1 TB HDD
CoolerMaster 500W ATX 80+ 230V EU (with yellow and red cables)

Adding a 256GB SSD would make your system feel a lot more responsive and would definately be the first upgrade recommended:

Upgrade this to an 8GB RX 570 which should definitely help for games and video editing/rendering and modeling workloads:

If you can find one at a reasonable price, would upgrade this to an FX-8350 (maybe go for a used/refurbished one).

Your system would be great for the workloads mentioned with the aforementioned upgrades, an entirely new system for an upgrade would not be necessary and you can get better value upgrading your current system.

A current-gen rig for the price you asked for. A little low on storage (only a 250GB SSD) but you could add a HDD for more capacity later.

If you get a used/refurbished one for $50 or less and can sell the current FX 6300 to make back some of the cost, it's a really good value.

The other component upgrades were good value choices and could be moved to another build if you wanted to upgrade your platform in the future.

While I was working on this I realized that things in Sweden are a lot more expensive than they are in the states. This is the best I could do.

My suggestion:

Few things to note:

-Motherboard will need a bios update for 3rd gen, and it only has 2 fan headers so you will need splitters or a hub. If it's available in Sweden I would advise stepping up to the b450m mortar from MSI.

-your current psu is probably good enough. I've included another in case your current one is a bit dodgy. If you research your current model and it turn out to be decent, have a look at spending the extra money on a Ryzen 5 3600.

-try and get some more case fans for the p300a to improve air flow

Just wondering, what Amazon do you use in Sweden? When I search via pc part picker it doesn't show any Amazon products, and they usually are some of the best priced.

We do not have amazon in sweden so if we want to use amazon we can buy from any of the neighboring countries

Ive put this together using German vendors and euros

This all assumes your current PSU is still good enough. 707 euros comes to about 7300 krona. Again, i hope your able to buy these from Germany, cos Swedish pricing really seems to suck unfortunately. If you feel you'd rather buy Swedish, you could probably get a R5 3100 and a maybe a used Rx 580, but this would be far less powerful. Another note to remember is the motherboard will need a BIOS update which would require you to get a hold of a 1st or 2nd gen ryzen cpu. This could be avoided by seeing if the vendor will flash the bios for you, or by buying one of the more expensive MSI Max series boards.

Its really unfortunate how bad Swedish pricing is, but i hope this helps :)
