GPU usage drops while gaming and cpu usage rises

Hello there.This is my first post on this website and the formating will be pretty bad.

 

Im here becaouse i have a big problem.I built my PC a few years ago and since the first day there was a big problem.While i was gaming i got pretty bad fps drops and i found out thet my graphics card was running at only 20% while these drops were happening.After about 10 seconds these drops are over and i can play normal for 3 minutes till it happens again.I already tried many thing to try preventing it from happening but nothing worked.Because of that im here and i hope that someone can help me.:)

 

CPU: AMD Fx 8350 

GPU: Msi GTX 1050ti

Ram:16gb ddr3

Motherboard:Asus M5a78L usb3

[AMD A10-9600P]

What games are you playing? What software do you have running in the background?

 

FX 8350 has very poor single thread performance, and only 4 real cores. Could be part of the issue.

This happens with bad overclocks.  GPUs since the 900 series have been pretty good about "recovering" from bad overclocks without crashing....but they drop frames hard.  If you run a benchmark like Heaven and see GPU load bouncing around it's because of a overclock that's too high.

 

If you're not overclocked....ehhh could be CPU bottleneck .  That CPU is pretty weak by modern standards.

can you monitor cpu and gpu temperatures while gaming? sounds like temperature throttling to me.

I am constantly doing that and my GPU never goes above 45 degrees.My CPU is 69 degree on average and maximum about 80

also what i forgot to mention sometimes my GPU doesnt even go above 20% even if it needs to.In the second picture you can see that i only have about 90 framees and my gpu wont go above 20%(also sorry for my english i am not a native speaker)

I am not overclocking the cpu and I also never wanted to.The load is usually normal but then it sudennly goes up and my GPU load load decreases

CS is a single core game. you cans ee it loading up just one of your cores. your cpu is not strong enough to push more than 90 frames to the gpu, and the gpu finds it easy to process those 90 frames, that's why it's under utilised.

It is not only like that in CSGO.In every single game i play like GTA V,Rainbow 6 ,Overwatch ,Battlefield 1 ,and many more the same thing happens.But for some reason it doesn´t happen when i play Rocket League

I play Games like CSGO Overwatch GTA 5 ,Rainbow 6 Battlefield and Rocket League.I only have Discord open in the backround and a cpu parking tool which does not help

Yeah, it seems like a CPU bottleneck to me. Your low frame rates in general are due to a weak CPU, and your frame rate drops could be due to game assets loading in, which the CPU needs to decompress. Or from background programs like anti-virus, or even hwmonitor stealing precious CPU cycles.

From what I hear from my friends who play it, Rocket League is a VERY well optimized game, and could run on an overclocked potato.

so my only chance is to get a new cpu?

um thats a 1050ti and I am pretty sure a fx 8350 can handle 580s and 1060s. Also did you say that cpu goes up to 80 degrees then that would mean your cpu is throttling. What cooler do you have.

Seems to be a motherboard problem actually. Your motherboards VRM can't supply the FX 8350 with enough power. See here:

Yeah ur right that board is pretty crap and it's probably causing the cpu to throttle the funny part is that people who have this issue usually have a fx 8000 series cpu paired with that board.
