GPU driver issues... maybe ?

Hello, 

 

i recently got the following parts for a new build. 
 

geforce rtx2070 super Ventus OC

Msi b450 Gaming plus max

Amd Ryzen 7 3700x
 

( also 2x16gb Corsair vengeance 3200 / a Corsair mp600 m.2 500gb / Corsair Rmx750 / Corsair Air540 ) 

 
i run into some pretty difficult issues. My benchmark tests show me that everything is okay/great working. 
Still I can’t play Games, Browsers like Firefox or Chrome crash (during YouTube etc.) and also Blender/Unity crashes regulary. 
so much so that This 1600euro Investment is of no use to me. 

I got the machine checked by a lokal store who had no solution except advicing me that the chipset driver for the b450 might not work with the gpu. 
i looked it up on the Msi website and it says the latest chipset drivers is compatible with my gpu. 
also I have all the latest drivers/bios installed after multiple clean starts...
 

Can someone maybe give me some advice ? Do I need a different gpu (amd 5700) or a different cpu (intel) ? Is there any option I have to make this work or troubleshoot the system ? ( I already tried my old gpu (geforce gtx960) wich got me the same issues )

You need to DDU the Nvidia driver, install a fresh one WITHOUT GeForce Experience as that's broken.

Also install the latest chipset driver, not from Masai, those are outdated. Get them from AMD.

Overall, sounds like you've made a driver mess by overlapping GPU and Chipset drivers. A fresh OS install may be worth it. And make sure the BIOs is up to date

 

Edit: and no, a CPU swap won't fix it. This typical Nvidia driver issues.

It's not the drivers. You have to have both the chipset drivers and the GPU drivers and they do not interfere with eachother.

 

Try turning XMP off. Unstable XMP profiles often make it look like a GPU issue on AM4 platforms.

Xmp was disabled all the time ( never enabled it) 

I had the issues without GeForce experience ( can’t even install it without crashing) 

Will try the drivers from Amd and a fresh os now.

So nothing worked for me. 
since it seems like the issue is really impossible to find
I will try an amd gpu next if this also fails I go with intel CPU and never touch amd again..
