Fullscreen games are dim

I have an Acer Predator 15 laptop that recently picked up a small issue. Any Steam or Origin game that I play in fullscreen dims, but it doesn't do that if I play in windowed mode. The only 2 games I have that aren't on Steam or Origin are Minecraft and Battlefield 1942, but they don't do that. Id try World of Warships but its not updated nor do I have the best internet to update it. 

 

I've updated all my drivers, checked power settings, and display. I've found nothing out of the ordinary. The only solution I've found (other than windowed mode), is to just unplug my laptop and play. But if I were to plug it back in and play a different game, it'd just be dim again. I've also gone into the games setting file and tried to fix it there with no luck. 

 

I'm hoping someone can help me out or point me in the right direction because it is quite annoying.

When you say unplug.. you mean unplug the power adapter/charger?

 

It does not do the dimming thing when the power adapter/charger is not plugged in?

It happens with me too, the best thing you can do (unintentional rhyme lol) is to open the action center and lower your screen brightness then turn it up again and go back to your game otherwise you have to reset your laptop from settings (you might lose your data)
