No. I currently have an 8700k but I’m looking to upgrade to a 9900k

You could get an i9 10900K and Z490 board in that case. Or look at Ryzen as an alternative. If you are just gaming though I would stick with the 8700K and wait for Ryzen 4000 and/or Rocket Lake.

Ok. And if I was to go to a 9900k which of these boards would be better? Just trying to weigh all my options and pricing.

Both of those boards are overkill for a 9900K. You could get something like a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite for way less. Spending big money on a dead end platform doesn't make much sense to me.

Is your current board no good ?

My current board is an aorus gaming 7 and it doesn’t have some features that I want. Like I have USB ports on the front panel of my case that aren’t plugged in because I only have 1 header on the board. The rgb fusion software is awful and very frustrating. And I only have 4 pin fan headers and 3 pin argb fans (I know that’s my fault but I really like the fans).

You would be better off buying a Z490 board and a 10th gen cpu then if you are looking to upgrade the cpu and board at the same time. Or as I also mentioned Ryzen is a cheaper alternative if you don't mind a bit less fps in gaming.

Ok. Yeah I’m a little bit of an Intel fanboy lol. But I really appreciate all your help
