I'm assuming you're from Australia, due to the AUS being the first preference of currency, with a $1500 budget, you could possible do alot more than what you have right now.

but first things first, where do you plan on buying your components?

If you're from the Sydney CBD area i would suggest ARC Computers at (arc.com.au) as they do really competitive prices and if your from sydney, pickup is alot better than paying for delivery, as when you add a case to your order the shipping costs jacks right up!

If not i would then recommend pc case gear at (pccasegear.com) they have really good pricing and if your going to be paying for shipping anyways, they offer a relatively not that expensive express shipping.

Now for my opinions/suggestion.

If you're going for a computer mainly used for virtual editing and computation i would go for a i7 3770(non K) instead of the AMD processor, as they seem to perform better with intels hyperthreading rather than AMD's physical cores.

That being said, i would also recommend a H77 motherboard as they give you a bunch of nice features however lacks the ability to overclock and dual GPU's, being as you said you're more of a light gamer i would think you'll go down Crossfire.

As with the graphics card, nothing much there, 7950's are quite sufficient, maybe even just the 7870, and use the left over money on more ram perhaps, as it would benefit video editing.

Powersupply,i would recommend the FSP Aurum Series 650w 80 PLus Gold Modular, At around the AUS$115-120, its a rather nice buy being 80plus gold and modular, I personally have one myself and i must say no complaints here, and the included modular cables are low profile so that is a bonus.

As with the Case, i assume its personal preference and you chose it as it appealed to you

RAM, like the corsair vengeance kit is fine, 8gb might be stretching it if you do intense editing, but it is all up to you

As with the monitor, video editing, i would find a nice IPS monitor, maybe wait for a dell sale in australia if you happen to catch those.

As with peripherals, in my honest opinion if your not into fancy mechanical keyboards or super sensitive fps mouse, i would just find a regular wireless keyboard and mouse combo and use that extra money for a better motherboard or an SSD, alot of these decisions are preferences to be honest

to summarise. Intel i7 3770 over AMD FX-8150, H77 motherboard swap, possibly a better power supply 80plus gold is always good, more ram, nice IPS monitor and your own choice of peripherals.

in response to farncir i would say that he has some valid points. Personally i don't find a big difference between in gaming with the i5 and the i7. If you are going intel it may be better to go for the 3570 instead of the 3770 but its your choice. If you don't want to go intel because of the price, maybe an 8350 because they are only a few bucks more.

Intel i7-3770k @ 4.5 GHz                               DCUII GTX 680                            16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM

Sabertooth Z77 ATX                                      WD Caviar Blue 500GB+ 1TB      Corsair Obsidian 750D

Corsair TX850M Watt PSU                            Bad Custom Water Cooling          Samsung 840 Pro SSD
