Helping kid build a PC

Budget (including currency): somewhat lower end

Country: Kid is in Saudi Arabia but I'm in the US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, Rocket League, Call of Duty Warzone, Civilization VI, and Minecraft

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Everything will be bought from newegg and amazon

 

Basically I'm helping a family friend currently living in Saudi Arabia build his first PC and he sent me a list that he took from a YouTube video and altered. He upgraded the ram from 16GB to 32GB but I taught him about how almost never how to change your RAM amount and you usually just change speed and I already feel like a proud teacher passing down my knowledge. I took his list and made a few adjustments and was hoping you guys could take a look and tell me what would be the best to change or whatnot. I also don't know much about Ryzen so I really don't know if his CPU pick is good (in the youtube vid it was the Ryzen 5 2600 which he changed to the Ryzen 5 3600) so I was also relying on you guys for that choice. I left the PSU and case choice blank cause that can be easily filled if you guys have a usually recommendation for 500w PSUs or something. He also picked some fans called upHere 120mm LED Fans but they don't look too good and kinda of random off brand so I was wondering if you guys could give me a good fan recommendation.

 

The budget is also probably around the price of the parts listed already.

no he's getting everything from amazon, I also recommended newegg so he might use that too. If he finds stuff around him he'll get it there but it's mostly from amazon and newegg.

Is he a gamer or does he do a lot of memory intensive tasks? Most gamers will do just fine with 16 gb of ram which will give him more money to put thowards a higher capacity ssd or graphics card.

he definitely doesn't need 32gb ram nearly all gamers can do great with 16Gb, I just felt proud cause I felt like a teacher :), although I probably shouldn't have included that in the post it must've confused people. I attached a list of what's currently picked.

Nah its all g m8 me is just having a few beers so my english goes down the toilet haha. But youre quite right  What is his budget anyay ?

well he followed a video that says $700 PC but I'd say just judge the budget based off of the parts i've provided so far.

When it comes to ss'd i would try this: Crucial MX500 i have used it for a while now and its really fast. Personally ive had a bad experience with WD. And i would recommend to do 1tb because 500 gig gets filled up quite fast  Ofc if that is within the budget. Terms of PSU. Personal preferance i always do modular ones, but theyre more expencive.

Regarding your ram, your MOBO only supports up to 3200 mhz so finding new ram would potentially save a few bucks.

Regarding case i have good experience with NZXT and coolermaster. I had a HAF (by cooler master) back in the day and i was quite pleased with that. Not too expencive either.

No case or PSU? You're going to need to add at least $100 to the budget to fit a case and PSU on there. You can swap a couple things to lower it a bit more too, but you're going to need a PSU unless you friend already has a case and PSU. The DS3H is pretty meh, I think it only supports up to 3200mhz memory but I'm not positive.

i should've clarified I meant base your budget off of what type of budget you would use those parts with, sorry i said it a little bad. But do you think it's a good idea to use 3600 over 2600

youre right it only supports up to 3200 so finding new ram chips for 3200 would potentially save a few bucks anyway.

The 3600 is the better gaming processor of the two, it's the new 7nm architecture with a decent bump in gaming performance for only little bit more. I'd get it over the 2600 personally.
