Hello everyone, will an i7-2600k work on a DB75EN motherboard? My current pc has an i3-3220, and I found an i7-2600k for a decent price, so my question is will it work? Please explain for dummies, thanks in advance.

75$, while the i7-3770 in my country used goes for around 140

I guess you're right, but i really have no budget at the moment to invest in a new one, and instead decided to replace the cpu

That is waayy too much for a 2600k. You should at maximum pay $40 for it.

 

For that price you could almost get a ryzen 5 1600

True, but with the ryzen i have to invest in a Mobo and ram as well so..

can you check how much a xeon E3-1220V2 would cost?

That is a 4 core 4 thread part and could be a bit faster than your i3. It also is listed on ebay for 27€ here

It goes for around 10-20$ more.

Well, that CPU for $37 would be better than an i7 2600k for $75. Unless you really want to overclock the heck out of it.

 

You could see, if the other xeons are a better deal. The dokument, that I linked, shows you all the supported CPUs
