Minecraft Server Creation

So for years now I've been running minecraft modded servers straight of my PC and i'm finally looking to upgrade so i'm looking to actually purchasing a server to host one one but the only problem being i have no idea how i would actually get the minecraft server onto it and i've been looking online and only keep finding tutorials on how to set one up on basic desktop PC so i would really appreciate a hand on how i would get started please

If you have a Server at home what you could do would be to install linux and install a minecraft server how you would do it on your desktop pc

i have a server at home i had just bought it i just wasn't aware i could just install Linux and do it normally i thought the porcess was more advanced that that thank you

Maybe there are better and more advanced ways of doing it but this is the fastest and easiest solution I could think of
