FPS Drop Help

Tips/Tricks to get the best graphics without FPS drops.

I would have thought this card would not have had this issue, but today I was playing Dying Light and got some weird FPS drops.

Like it averages 80 FPS, but suddenly stuttered around 24 for a few seconds then went back to normal.

I was playing on max settings.

 

This is my card, with Ryzen 3900x and 64gb ram.

full pc specs? what other programs were also running? what was the cpu and gpu usage?

These frame drops have nothing to do with your system, it is just a result of loading something in the background or a game limitation. Turning on G-sync could smoothen out frame drops, but frame drops are normal and shouldn't be something to worry about.

This is the main parts, wraith air cooled cpu three intake one exhaust. two TCL 42inch 4k tv.

I had Netflick going on one screen, Dyling light playing in Synapse Game Mode so it removes most of the background stuff.

Not sure the CPU usage, GPU was at 98% per afterburner.

idk, with those specs, i would not be happy with any fps drops lol. what resolution and hz are both screens running? did you try g-sync?

EXACTLY lol. I didnt build this rig to FPS drop. Hence my concern.

What's g-sync?

Both TVs are 60hz, 4k x 2k, 3840 x 2160 native. and looks like thats what the game defaulted to.

Vertical synchronization: limits frame rate to the frame rate of the monitor

Ill look in the game and see if it has that option and turn it on and see if that helps.

You have to go to Nvidia control pannel to enable it, and it will only show up if the screen is compatible with it.

I do believe you can enable something like it in your game

try v-sync for now, see if it helps.
