Hi everyone, what would be best to upgrade for one of my friends?

At the moment he has:

Pentium G5400

CPU graphics

MSI Gaming Plus z370

8Gb Kingston Fury DDR4 ram

256Gb Samsung SSD

1Tb Seagate HDD

350W PSU (unknown brand)

He wants to buy a GPU (most probably he will have to upgrede the PSU) and have everything for about 250-300$. Mostly playing WOT, CS:GO, Dota 2 at very low 1080p (sometimes 720p) at 30-40 fps in WOT.

What can one get for that build? I thought of a used 1050-1050ti and a new 500w PSU, may be a used 1050 and an i3, but not sure that it will fit into the budget.

Get a Corsair CX550, 8 GB more of the same speed memory and a 1660 Super/Ti or RX 5500 XT. Later, when Zen 3 comes and Intel prices plumet, get him an i5 8400

Unfortunately in my region 1660 Super itself is 300$, no used available. CX550 is also about 90$ (again, no used).

He can get a Inno3D GeForce GTX 1650 new and a i5 8400 (used) for 310 and later get a FSP 500W 80+ for 40$ in a month or so. Is that a good idea?

Start with the PSU - overloading the current one will just kill the entire system. Also get a good one. The FSP 80+ models are crap. Aim for at MINIMUM a Corsair VS 650 or DeepCool DA550 80+ Bronze
