Hi all!

I'm having issues with my new build that I just got, the PC refuses to turn on, and I don't know whether it's the PSU, the MOBO, the CPU or maybe even the RAM, I have no leads here.

My system specs are -

- i7 4771 @ stock

- 16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 1600 MHz

- PNY GTX 770

- Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI

- Silverstone RVZ01 Case

- Sliverstone SFX 450W PSU 80 plus gold

- SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250 GB SSD

The system doesn't turn on, everything that I'm aware has to be connected is, an 8 PIN and 6 PIN to the 770, the 4 PIN to the CPU, 24 PIN to the MOBO, SATA to the SSD, audio front panel, and front panel header. I've got a few questions about the header, because on the manual it says "MSG - and MSG +", but the case came with -P LED and +P LED instead of the "MSG", and I don't know whether that would make a difference or not. The PSU fan isn't spinning up, the GPU isn't either, in fact no fans are, and no LED's are coming on, and I don't know what to do at this stage, any help would be much appreciated.

This is a PDF to the manual of the board, just in case :) -

Thanks in advanced.

you need to connect the front panel connectors in the right way

have you tried these already? http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/42440-readme-how-to-respond-to-a-no-post-or-no-power-up-situation/

I have plugged them in the right way, exactly as the mobo manual says, and I have tried all of the steps in that thread, and nothing. The PSU fan doesn't spin up, so I'm getting a feeling that it's a dead PSU, but could it be anything else?

Have you done paperclip test to just PSU? First if its full modular, check that cables are tight in both ends.

I just did the paperclip test and the PSU is working, thanks for the tip, so the 24 pin is well connected to the PSU, could it be the CPU 12V connector that's messing it all up? Or maybe a stick of RAM, or the GPU?

Thanks

If your still stumped.  remove the motherboard from the case.  sometimes is a standoff short. also less variables.

put the motherboard on the box it came on not the bag as sometimes they are conductive.

try running the motherboard with 1 stick of ram, the cpu and on-borad graphics (remove the gpu card)

do not have any usb header ect plugged in.

(note on some board if the led case headers are round the wrong way some dont boot)
