So I recently bought a used i7 4790 to replace my i5 4440S. I have a prebuilt ASUS M11AD. Every time I turn on my PC, everything turns on but I get no signal on my monitor. I've downloaded and installed the newest bios but that did not help. I put my old CPU in and it worked fine. After doing some searching online, I found that ASUS apparently wrote code for the M11AD bios so that it would detect if someone tries to install a new CPU and not let the system post (Something like that). Is there anything I can do about this? I'd prefer to not have to buy a new motherboard.

thing about prebuilt machines, they dont necessary compatible with cpus that uses the same socket. they keep the cost down for a lot of things, not gone thru extensive testing on cpus, rams and ssd like comsumer motherboards is one.

you have to get a new board for this, there is no hack, or one that's easy enough for regular people to do.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!
