Hi,

Looking to possibly run some old TP Link Homeplug Powerline adapters from 2013 to my new build.

Think they came with a basic form of encryption (hold a button run round to the other adapter!)

I'm just wondering if you need to run the encrypton over the circuit at all?

Highly unlikely someone's going to sniff packets over the electrical wire in my house before getting to router?

Advice appreciated..

From what I've read about them in the past it's only an issue within a building which shares the same mains power source/power meter, generally a power meter will provide a break that the power line network signal shouldn't jump across. It's always wise to use encryption if available though, just in case.
