I currently have a xps15 laptop, and am unsure on wether to drop money for an egpu setup, or bite the bullet for a rig. If i go a rig Id like a mini itx, probably planning for 1200-1400 spending. Any thoughts? if you reccomend going a rig, Id love some builds to look at

Damn, ITX motherboards are pricey.

Have you thought about mATX? That would drastically reduce the price for the motherboard and you could invest that money elsewhere (GPU, more Ram, whatever you want/need)

Plus at the moment it's a terrible time to buy more 'specialty' components like itx components. That motherboard has been as low as $210 in the past and was at 220 for the longest time. If you can, then wait - B550 would make a bit more sense unless you need X570, provided the motherboard will be able to handle it (though a 3700X is fairly easy to drive, the 12 and 16 core options down the road might not be)

Primary Desktop: NCase M1 - Ryzen 7 7800X3D/RX 6950XT | 32GB/2TB

Travel PC: Fractal Terra - Ryzen 7 5800X/RTX 3060 Ti | 16GB/1TB

I have too many computers. List here.
