GPU does not immediately recognize upon booting

UPDATE

After tinkering with the settings, it seems that disabling background apps on windows solved the problem. As to why that is the case... I absolutely have no idea. Perhaps anyone can shed some light on this?

Hi,

So recently I just built a PC for the first time. So far. everything boots and works as intended. The only thing is that I notice my PC usually needs a minute or two to recognize my GPU (ASUS GTX 1080) every time I boot to windows. Usually my screen briefly goes black for a moment and once back on, the GPU is then recognized. The graphics card itself works completely fine afterwards. This happens every time I turn the PC on after a shutdown. I'm wondering what might cause this minor issue?

Billions of settings possibilities in numerous places.  All of em software.  Could be a driver, could be bios, could be win10

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
