GPU temperature help!

Hello everyone, I am currently having some issues with my GPU of not running at a safe temperature. So 2 months ago my friend and I bought the exact same pc, same specs, same case ..everything is the same but the problem is that when we run both the same game he gets around 69 degrees celcius and I get around 80 degrees celcius...is this normal?? Is my gpu faulty or smthing? We both play at the same settings for assassins creed odyssey ... the only difference in my pc is that I added more ram and now it is dual channel 2x16 .. is this the problem?

specs: GTX 1660 OC

I'd not worry about gpu temps unless they surpass 90c

My GTX 1080 tends to idle anywhere from mid to high 70's to high 80's depending on the game and what its doing with the GPU. Graphics cards are generally meant to withstand temps up to 100c, then they shut off to prevent damage. But 80c isnt a terrible tempurature, unless its idling at high temps like that.

maybe you should try to get more fans in the pc case if possible it may help with temps or open the gpu and clean the fans along with the other fans in the case

Your ambient temperature or case airflow may be different, he may have his FPS capped by v-sync, etc.

Plus, Nvidia firmware is designed to push the card in clocks until it reaches 80c anyway, so it isn't much to worry about.

Thanks for the reply, I get it that the ambient temperature might be different or something else but in general don't you think 80 degrees celcius is kinda too much while playing assassins creed?
