I need a new gpu. I currently have a radeon 2600 pro. I want to play bf3 on any settings. The 2600 doesn't even have a recent enough directx version. I have a 250 watt no name psu. The rest of my specs are in my sig. I have a max budget of $75, $50 is preferable. If I need a new psu that must be in that price. I own bf3 and have for a year and now I want to play it. What can i do?

Save up for a 750ti

Unfortunately I am unable to. I am a pilot and that is my first priority when it comes to my money. To maintain my flying schedule I wont have the $200 for a 750ti for at least 6 months.

Or if you can't get the extra 5000 pennies then a 750 is still a good option. Obviously the 750ti is THE best price/performance gpu out there.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

At that price range you are wasting your money.

You beat me to it.

I think you might want to wait and get a used 750?

There aren't even many cards that could run on a 250w PSU that are worth anything except the 750/750ti

Don't they need a 350 watt or better?

I would think it could run on a 250w

They have a tdp of 60w

Would that work with the rest of my system? Keep in mind it is a generic no name hp psu.

You can get a GTX 750Ti for $160 after rebate with free shipping, and that's the ACX cooler.

I've seen the video of a 3770K, custom loop, and 680 using 300w.

It seems like you'll be fine.

Cool. I like that.

You can look forward to the future :P

There's not much that you can get on a 250w psu. I would say your best bet is something used.

I would recommend trying for the 750/750ti.

Though maybe they will release a GT740 or something along those lines.

Idk, I wouldn't buy any GPU under $100, below that your getting very poor performance for your money. Have you seen Linus' video on low end GPUs?

Yes I have. I guess I will just have to wait. Are you sure that I can run a 750ti on my psu?

It has a TDP of 60Ws (non-reference ones have up to 85Ws TDP), you should get a new PSU but it'll work.

I would say so. It only uses 60w

($30 gets you an EVGA psu that has double that (500w) and bronze standard ;) )
