My ideapad running mint won't charge. I have a Thinkpad coming with a 500gb hdd. The thinkpad has win10 on it. The. Ideapad has 1tb.

How practical is it to swap the hdds please? I have the manual so could physically swap them but I'm wondering what the other implications might be.

TIA

Thanks for responding. The new Thinkpad is only 500gb. The dead Ideapad uses most of 1tb.

I could put Mint onto the new thinkpad but I still need most of the data off the 1tb drive.

The new Thinkpad is a gift. If I'd been buying one I'd have bought one with 1tb already on it.
