My school is upgrading their editing rigs this summer, and i'm tasked with building it. I've chosen the 660ti. Here's the pickle. We need to support 2 monitors vga ONLY. (if it still works the district sees no need to replace) we have plenty of dvi-i adapters to vga but that will only cover one of the monitors as there is only 1 dvi-i port on the 660ti

Do you guys know of a cheap (<$25) HDMI or Displayport to VGA adapter?

Please leave a link to the product

P.S. has to be newegg, that's where we're ordering from.

I've had bad luck in the past (personally) with adapters what makes one work? and which one would you recommend because of that?

I would get this for the HDMI to VGA adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812400359

because this has lifetime warranty. :)

I would get this for the Displayport to VGA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158150

This person tried it on 1900x1200 monitor and it worked fine but this adapter requires 640x480 resolution or higher in order to work but someone reported that it only works on 640x480 resolution. Read the 4 star review and the 2 star verified owner review. This was also the best reviewed one on newegg i think.

there are going to be 7  $700 machines. that are going to be used for rendering. I built a rocket on a tricycle(not really) FX6300 (because cores) and the 660ti for the graphical CS6 rendering we will be doing.

this. if you want to look at it (i won't be changing it now, it's practically final)

Shouldn't you include a dvd drive? Or are you installing with a flash drive?

This thread is changing topic fast.

No dvd drive. the school has images for all the OS's we use and we put them on via the network. No hdds because we already have quite a few and and ssds are just out of the budget.
