Hello everyone! Thanks for spending your time reading this!

So to jump straight into the question, I have a laptop that is 5 years old, a Lenovo y50-70 equipped with a 4710HQ and a gtx 860m 8gb ram and 1tb hdd. It has become quite slow actually compared to the previous years.

I have been editing some videos with adobe premiere and I tried to do some light adobe after effects projects and the apps were taking so much time to open and they would just crash istantly that after a while it wasn't even funny! I have been gaming lightly too and the loading screens are getting slower and slower.

I thought I could upgrade the ram to an 16gb and change the hdd, finally, to an ssd. I was looking around and I am not sure if I should upgrade to 500gb or 1tb, I currently have occupied around 750gb but many things are also duplicated of some folder that, stupidly, I keep in order to feel safer in case I delete the folder.

The 8gb are for sale from crucial and costs around 50€

The 500ssd (860evo from samsung) is around 90€ and the 1tb ( 860qvo samsung) is aroud 120€.

Which ssd do you suggest between the two? Do you have any other suggestion? but more importantly... Is it worth the almost 150-180€ upgrade on a 5y.o. machine that I paid 900€ at the time???
