hi! i just bought this new pc specs are

i5 6600k 4.7ghz (temps are always under 52 degrees celcius)

GTX 1070 Windforce OC 8gb

8 gb ddr4 3000 mhz ram (G.Skill RGB)

Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

In fortnite (not hard to run game) i've seen people on youtube WHILE recording with nvidia shadowplay and have other things open such as a overlay with cpu temps, cores, gpu and such run at 200+ fps

I don't even have anything open other than the game and nzxt cam and it says fortnite is using only up to 80 percent while the cpu is at 100%, i've disabled windows security and i've done a fresh install of windows (i even overclocked up to 4.7 ghz and updated bios to as well as it can go)

EDIT: my old cpu was i7 5820k and the processor and motherboard died so i had to hash out money to buy a new pc (I'm 16 without ability to make a stable income or get a job)

PC SPECS

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x GPU: ASUS TUF GTX 1660 Super RAM: 16 GB 3200mhz

Case: NZXT H510 PSU: Alienware prebuild 800 watt fully modular

the cpu is at 100%

then the cpu is lagging is what the problem is. with no way of changing the cpu as you mention and only the game using the cpu then thats what the game performance is going to be.

You mind stating what the issue is? If you don't like being at 100% CPU just set a frame cap

i think they might have meant to mention the performance is probably less than what they are seeing on youtube but just forgot to type it

frames are dropping under 80 and its very hard to play with stuttering

the frames are way lower, people who were using this cpu and an rx 580 with shadows on were averaging better frames than i am (my temps are low too)

those people are using the exact same hardware (board/ram/drives) , driver set , windows build , windows updates , game updates , running on the same game server , on the same day you were testing , correct?

IDK if this fixed it but I know for a fact that the Epic games launcher is a piece of shit. Just use task manager to kill the launcher when it launches, or see if they have a setting like battle.net where it automatically closes when you launch a game

they're using lower end specs one was using rx 580 with just a regular 6600 non k version

I don't think you're getting what i'm hinting at which is only looking at a cpu and gpu of someone else running a game has very little to do with comparing performance. You aren't checking what settings they are playing at nor what version of the game they are running , when they ran it , and what combination of drivers / updates/windows version they are using.

If you aren't looking into WHY their machines run it well then making comparisons will just lead you nowhere. it's also not a great idea to compare game performances based on youtube videos. Actually cross check the hardware with a benchmark that has thousands of samples to see if theres an actual problem. not a handful of youtube samples
