Cheap Gaming Headset

Hey all, I just bought a new gaming laptop for an overseas adventure later this summer, but I need headphones for it. On my desktop I rock my BELOVED Sennheiser HD 598s, and Yeti, but I’m in the market for a new gaming headset.

 

Ideally I’m looking for something between $50-75 CAD. I have a pair of Astro A10s for my Xbox One, but I’m not a fan of wearing vice grips for headphones. I’m looking for something decent, but if they get roughed up a bit I won’t care. I haven’t bothered myself with gaming headsets since I bought my Sennheisers (for obvious reasons ;) ) so is appreciate any input.

I’m not too experienced with headphones, but I have been happy with my HyperX Cloud Stinger headset.

Here are a couple suggestions.

First off, if you really can, go for some hyperx’s. They are by far the best value per dollar gaming headset out there in my opinion if you are looking for something that has everything included, and is done great for the price. A great mic, sound quality, durability, and comfort too. They are by far the best dollar per value and while you would be spending more, they are the best use of your money over a slightly less expensive unit.

Second, if you really need to, is there a possibility you can use your current headphones you enjoy and just throw a mod mic on them?
