GPU for BandiCam?

Hi guys, 

 

I have Google Stadia and game frequently on my laptop. My little brother recently asked me to record gameplay for him.

 

I am not streaming, I am simply recording with BandiCam and uploading to YouTube on a private channel. For some reason my GPU freaks out when I open BandiCam. Same thing with OBS even if they're on idle. Would an external GPU solve this issue?

What GPU are you currently using? I used Bandicam a lot with my current 9 year gaming laptop what is more or less a desktop and only used for.... well this. It has dual NVIDIA 670s. In the day it ran great recording and would think it would now as well, given I play a less intensive game. I would think as long as the game your playing isn't too demanding for your GPU now you should be fine I don't think Bandicam would pull back a GPU performance that much.... I'm no expert by any means just my experience :/ If I'm wrong I hope someone can give more insight for ya!!

 

EDIT: What CPU and ram do you have? Your problems might not all be GPU as far as running OBS.
