I am trying to setup some security cameras around our house. They are all wired POE IP Cameras. I have a separate network pork on my PfSense box that is set as 10.10.60.1 All the cameras are routed through that to a poe switch. I want it all to be able to be accessed by my main network...192.168.2.1. So far that is working out. However, the connection cuts in and out every few seconds. I can ping the device on the 60 network from my main network with no problems. Any idea why it would be dropping out? I have the same rules set for my guest network. I can see devices on it but it can not see devices on my main network? Does that cause an issue maybe? I am using Ispy for now just to get this tested and running since it is free. No NVR or anything like that. it will get saved to my nas that is on the main network.

Thanks

My experience with IP cameras has been kinda similar even on the same network, they just work much more reliably with a proper NVR.

There is also the question of if your pfSense box is fast enough for this?  Remember that routing across different subnets is basically the same as routing between the LAN and WAN, it takes a lot of CPU power.

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) Backup: GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz) WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz)
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

I am using 1 to 3% of CPU so I think I am good there. Utilization overall is low. I did connect my laptop directly to that network and still had the same problem. I reinstalled and now it seems to be working...Knock on wood.
