PSU cable burnt

Hey, LTT forum I recently heard my psu making strange buzzing sounds. I checked the psu and I found out this. Should I RMA the psu or change cable? Other than that the psu works fine.

I'm not seeing anything that shows a burn mark of any kind. I see some faint discoloring on the plastic but that's it.

Did something happen or did you notice this by accident and assumed problems?

Coil whine? Nothing dangerous, just annoying. There can obviously be some arcing when you connect and disconnect the cable, as there's 110/230V there. I don't see anything to be worried about

There's no coil whine other than my gpu, the arcing happens when the cable is connected and pc is on.

Do you turn the PSU off or is the button always in the on position when you plug and unplug it?

it's always on but I plug first in the psu then in the power. So I was an a**hole for not switching the psu off?

No, don't use button to turn off PSU routinely, only for prolonged periods or smth, otherwise the switch would worn out eventually.

Nothing bad with those arcing marks on the contacts but that may indicate that you don't plug the cable all the way.

Buzzing sounds may be just coil whine, it's harmless.

I will order a new cable and try and see if it still does those sounds.
