So my laptop [Legion y740 RTX 2060 / i7 9750h / 16gb ram] has been underperforming lately as temperatures reach 94C, which is quite unbearable, even when making settings as low as possible. I’ve tried undervolting using Intel XTU and Throttlestop, but none of them have done anything in terms of decreasing temperatures. I’ve gone all the way to -160 mV on both programs (separately). Would anyone know why this is happening or what I can do? Thanks!

Have you tried cleaning any dust off the interior on the laptop?

Underneath the laptop i saw a bit of dust accumulating so i used a vacuum to take all the dust out.

Vacuum won't do. You really need to take off the fan to clean the fins of the heat sink.

 

You may need a brush, small brush preferable, to clean the fan and the fins.
