I was putting a PC together and it posted so I was managing some cables after putting it in it's place and all of a sudden I switched it on and now my graphics card is not outputting anything, and the fan is still. I may have VERY gently bumped it during my managing ( it was barely hard enough for my body to even register, so I assume this is not the cause) but I did notice that some component started making a strange noise  (kinda like a "grrrreep" over and over) after I started it the second time. Any ideas why my card is asleep?

Try re-seating the card and associated power cables.
