Need help with upgrading my computer!

Hi

3 years ago I decided to build my own computer. With some help I did good and it runs great. But I have a feeling that I want to upgrade in the near future.

I have:

CPU: i5 6600k

CPU cooler: Mastercooler hyper 212 evo

GPU: evga gtx 1060 3gb

PSU: Be quiet! pure power 9 500w 80+ silver

Motherboard. Msi z170a pc mate

RAM: corsari 2x8 gb 3200 mhz

and 2 ssd...

I have thought of getting a rx 5700xt because it is very popular and many recommend it. But it cost 5000 kr (Swedish money) which is 500 dollars. So instead of upgrading my cpu to for example Ryzen 5 3600 with a new motherboard (or something else that is better for me). I want to just upgrading my GPU (and PSU ofc). But can I? Are my 6600k capable of handling the 5700xt or is it too weak. I read on a site that my cpu will degrease my gpu performance with 20%. Idk if that is false or true. Or doesn't it matter (I'm a noobie that's why I ask). And remember that in Sweden it is much more expensive than in USA or UK. And im not rich. So if it works with just 5700 xt and not getting a new cpu I would be very happy.

I want to play at 1080p, use 2 monitors and I will mostly play fps like Warzone or other random games. I want my computer to hold for future games.

I would really appreciate advices or anything you can tell me.
